Return to Work Partnering for quality care and reduced overall costs
Our return to work initiatives are cost-effective, focused plans to return injured workers to full employment as soon as medically feasible without sacrificing quality care. These intiatives work in tandem with our Managed Care program to reduce overall costs.
Initiatives include:
- Light duty program that identifies short-term or long-term alternative positions with current employer
- Vocational rehabilitation network that provides specialists retained to locate a new work opportunity for an injured worker using current skills or through re-training
- Immediate intervention when appropriate
- Review of all lost time claims by internal Case Manager
- Identifying creative work alternatives
The program efficiently manages any situation that may arise with a claim. Steps include:
- Internal and external Case Managers assist the Adjuster with the coordination of the medical aspects of a claim by providing the insured with quality medical care and preferred scheduling
- Consideration of new notices for Case Manager referral
- Comprehensive Case Manager responsibilities include helping return the employee to work, employee work modification evaluation, employee in-home return-to-work assessment meetings, communication with the medical provider and identifying the need for second opinions
