Since the earliest days of Amerisure, our employee volunteers have been active in our communities, working side-by-side with our nonprofit partners to make a difference.
In honor of #GivingTuesday, we’re showcasing a few of the more than 30 organizations our employees work with. Check out some of the most rewarding experiences our Farmington Hills employees have participated in below —
For the second year in a row, over 100 Amerisure employees took to the streets of Detroit to clean up city blocks. The group spread out across the neighborhood to mow overgrown lawns and remove debris. Before the day was over, the Amerisure team cleaned up nearly 20 vacant homes, five lots and a full city block. Many group leaders shared stories of locals who worked with them side-by-side.
Crossroads of Michigan
For the past six years, Amerisure employees have hosted a volunteer event, by working in two teams. The meal preparation team made 700 sandwiches and 62 gallons of chicken vegetable soup. They also prepared bananas, Oreos, coffee and lemonade for the serve team. The serve team set up, served and cleaned up lunch for more than 467 soup kitchen guests.
Oakland County Children’s Village
Each holiday season, Amerisure employees play an integral part in making it memorable for the youth of Oakland and Wayne County, Michigan. They collect more than 50 toys, items of clothing and monetary donations for the Hawthorn Center. Additionally, they wrap these gifts and deliver them to the children during their holiday party. Employees also plan and execute an annual holiday party for teenagers at the Children’s Village. They decorate baked goods, sing Christmas carols and hand out presents.
Amerisure Charitable Foundation
The experiences showcased above are just three of the volunteer programs employees participate in. Founded in 2005 as a Michigan nonprofit corporation, the Amerisure Charitable Foundation partners with numerous other organizations throughout the country where our employees, board members, policyholders and Partners For Success® agencies are actively involved.
Our approach to philanthropy is designed to balance the needs in the community with the passion of our employees and partners. In fact, in 2017, Amerisure Charitable Foundation contributions totaled $524,955.
