Return to Work Often, injured workers are eager to return to work when they feel well enough, but may be physically unable to complete the same tasks until further healing or therapy takes place. The Amerisure Early Return to Work (ERTW) program focuses on bringing injured employees back to work as soon as they are medically able. Without sacrificing quality care, this type of program facilitates productivity and contains costs by allowing an employee to contribute within their abilities until they are able to return to their full-duty job. The initiative works in tandem with our Managed Care Program to reduce overall costs. Several of the options available with the ERTW program include: Modified Work The employee returns to his/her original job, but with duties modified or accommodations provided to conform to restrictions placed on the job by the medical care provider. Restrictions may include reducing the amount of work time and/or restricting certain activities, such as bending and lifting. Transitional Work The employee returns to work, but because the original job cannot be modified to conform to the physician’s restrictions, he or she performs another job that accommodates the injured employee’s physical limitations. Alternate Work The employee is reassigned to another position or different type of work that accommodates current abilities. Talk to An Agent Today.
